Today's ride takes us out into the Northern Thai countryside and into places where the water buffalo and ox are the main tools to plow the fields and transport the harvest. Visit the Sankampaeng markets where the fresh products are sold daily . Then pass by temples that represent the centre of the community and the soul of the people. Ride through the open plains and take short cuts through lush green rice paddies as well as the forests and mountains that surround this area. Quiet country roads at the base of the mountain range will bring us to the Sankampaneng Hot Springs where, if you can’t stand the heat, we can have a dip in the natural mineral springs that are said to be curative and rejuvenating. Ride through the valleys between the mountains and enjoy spectacular horizons with smooth quiet country roads on the way to Lamphun. A great days riding taking in some great country villages, stunning golden temples and end up in the historic sleepy town of Lamphun. Check out the 700-year-old city walls and the shrine of the Queen of Haripunchai. Have a nice riverside lunch and then return to Chiang Mai.
