Tom Kha Kai (Chicken in Coconut Milk Soup)

Bookmark and Share

Tom Kha Kai is another popular type of Thai version's chicken soup served in almost whole family in the country. Considered as the most refreshing soup of the world, it is boiled chicken soup made by combination of stock & coconut milk with spices and herbs including thinly sliced galangal, fiery chilies, a chop of lemongrass, crushed shallots, ginger, prawn and tender chicken.

Like other Tom Yam Kai, Tom Kha Kai broth is carefully prepared with many kinds of Thai herbs and seasonings. Its distinctive point is that its taste isn’t as spicy as other Thai soup, it is less spicy and milder thanks to coconut milk, which make this dish unique.

Tom Kha Kai is often garnished with fresh lime leaves with sweet-smelling of concoction, compelling and creamy. If you love eating a dish rich but less spicy, Tom Kha Kai is perfect for you. It really stands out among delectable Thai cuisines on the table.
